Laws of 4wd'ing
The first law of 4 Wheel Driving is:
IF IN DOUBT, STOP, GET OUT AND LOOK
LOOK and ask yourself;
How dangerous is the rock climb/decent?
How slippery/loose is the surface?
How deep is the water and is it a firm base?
How deep is that mud and what’s on the bottom?
How soft is that sand?
The second law of 4 Wheel Driving is:
THINK, ASSESS AND DECIDE
Do I really need to go through or over this obstacle or can I avoid it? If you have to negotiate the obstacle decide how you are going to do it?
Once you have decided on a line to take, try to stay on it and ask for assistance in negotiating the obstacle if necessary.
